Cruise the Coast on the Huntington Beach Bike Path

With some of the most pristine and gorgeous stretches of white sand in the country, Huntington Beach is packed full of fun activities for the whole family. One of the best ways to take in all the beauty is to explore the picturesque Huntington Beach Bike Path that stretches down to Newport Beach.

Grab Some Wheels

Whether you’re an avid cyclist or a recreational beach cruiser, the eight-mile bike path that spans the length of Huntington Beach is a magnificent way to get some fresh sea breezes. Snag some bicycle rentals by the Huntington Beach Pier, and you’ve got yourself a day of relaxing, exploring, and lots of laughs for the whole family. With so much to see and do, you can spend an entire day soaking in the rays and getting into all sorts of adventures. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Head North for Natural Beauty

At the northern end of the Huntington Beach Bike Path is the exquisite Bolsa Chica State Beach. Here you’ll find a campground and some of the best sunset views on the coast. Take a break here and listen to the waves crash. Or explore the natural beauty all around. Just inland is the Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve, a 1,300-acre wetland preserve home to over 200 species of birds and wildlife. Enjoy the natural landscape and take a dip in the chilly Pacific before heading back south for fun and refreshments.

Head South for the Joys of Newport

Take the bike path south past the Santa Ana River Trail, and you’ll find yourself in the beachfront paradise of Newport Beach. One of the most visited beaches in California, millions flock to this gorgeous coastline each year. If you cruise to the very southern tip of Newport Beach, you can see surfers try their boards on The Wedge. Here, the man made inlet meets the power of the ocean in huge, thundering waves. Sit and watch the pros ride, or collect shells and make sand castles as you give your legs a break. Newport also has tons of amazing places to eat and drink. So don’t forget to take the opportunity to sample all the many flavors up and down the beach.

Head Inland for Even More Adventures

Tucked right into the city of Newport is a gorgeous inlet featuring a biking and walking trail called the Mountains to the Sea Trail. It hugs the San Diego Creek and passes by the Upper Newport Bay State Marine Conservation Area. This winding path is a quieter journey with lots of opportunities to spot wildlife and enjoy the calm solitude of the California wetlands.

Be Safe and Wear a Helmet!

Whichever way your journey takes you, many adventures await you in Huntington Beach! Whether it’s the bustling planks of the pier, or the soft light of sunset in the wetlands, Southern California has more than enough adventures to offer those who wish to explore on two wheels. Happy biking!
